Utahns lighting fireworks in restricted areas could be fined $1,000

in Holidays

Thursday marks the first day you can legally start setting off fireworks in Utah — but fireworks aren’t allowed everywhere, particularly under current conditions.

“We’re headed to extreme fire danger. We’re not quite there yet, but we probably will be in just a matter of days,” said Coy Porter, the Utah state fire marshal.

As we enter a period where the state allows fireworks, Porter says conditions are somewhat concerning.
