KUTV — Applications are now being accepted for 20 moms in Weber County and 20 in Lehi to register for the coming Tech-Moms program.
The new program (also known as MotherCoders) delivered by RizeNext just completed its fall sessions, which were a part-time, 9-week training that took place every Saturday at Weber State University, in Ogden and Utah Valley University, in Lehi.
Participating moms gained the skills, knowledge, and professional networking needed to transition into or re-enter a career in tech.
According to RizeNext Founder and CEO Trina Limpert, 86% of U.S. women become mothers by age 44. The support for women who become mothers in the U.S. workforce creates tremendous uplift for communities and the economy. Not doing so would be a tremendous waste of human capital, Limpert added, since women drive 85% of business and consumer purchasing.
