Should taxpayers foot the bill to pave Utah County road with one business?

Taxpayers will probably foot the bill to attract more gun enthusiasts to Utah County.

Utah County commissioners are finalizing an agreement with Eagle Mountain to pave a roughly 2-mile section of 8000 North, which is northwest of Eagle Mountain. (A small section falls within city limits.)

The only development along the road is Wasatch Wing and Clay, a shooting and bird hunting facility.

General manager Weston Berry declined an interview request. He recently made his case to commissioners, saying large shooting events are skipping over his venue because the road is unpaved. Plus, he’s losing other revenue as well.
