in Local Roundup

An unpleasant odor that was reported on the west side of Orem should be gone by the end of the day.

According to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, the smell was caused by the removal of coal tar pits at the old Geneva steel plant

Residents should stop smelling the odor as early as Wednesday morning, according to Utah DEQ.

Orem City posted about the smell on Facebook on Friday after receiving multiple reports of a “noxious smell.”
