CENTERVILLE, Utah — Following one of Utah’s most destructive windstorms in generations, Gov. Gary Herbert declared a state of emergency Wednesday to help assist all areas affected in clean up efforts.

Herbert made the announcement while touring damage in Centerville.

During his tour, Herbert visited homes where the damage was especially significant, and spoke with local politicians about state, city and county cooperation.

As the group walked the streets surveying the trees uprooted, Herbert said they hope to receive federal funds to help with the damage done to the State, and is working on a way to help those who are uninsured.
