PLEASANT GROVE — Crews in Utah County battled two new wildfires on Sunday, one of which forced temporary evacuations.
The Goshen Fire, which ignited southwest of Santaquin near Summit Ridge Parkway, was reported midafternoon. By evening officials estimated the blaze at 200 acres with 0% reported containment.
While structures were originally threatened after the fire started, the blaze had moved away from them by late afternoon, state fire officials said on the Utah Fire Info website. No evacuations were ordered.
Two hundred firefighters were fighting the blaze, as well as three helicopters and eight aircraft dropping fire retardant into the evening, officials said.
