KUTV) — Search and rescue crews stayed busy over Memorial Day weekend as they safely recovered several hikers in two Utah counties.
In Utah County, rescue crews helped a young man rappelling down a slope at Bridal Veil Falls.
He had gone out above a steep scree slope and couldn’t get back to safety on his own.
Another person sustained a leg injury near Horsetail Falls and was carried in a litter.
“Please remember that even if you feel comfortable scrambling on steep mountainsides or hiking local trails, you could easily become a danger to yourself or others,” the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Recuse department posted on Facebook.
