LEHI, UT (KUTV) — Big changes are coming to Interstate 15 in Lehi.
The Utah Department of Transportation is unveiling two new on-ramps this week as part of the I-15 Technology Corridor Project. UDOT says the project will help improve traffic at one of the busiest spots in the state.
The stretch of freeway in northern Utah County is surrounded by a construction zone that feeds into business districts.
This update includes two southbound on-ramps. The first is at 2100 North, which opens late Tuesday night, just in time for Wednesday’s morning commute. The second one will open to drivers this weekend at Thanksgiving Way.
UDOT has spent years on this massive project. Crews are also working to widen the freeway by adding six lanes in both directions for approximately five miles. This is the final stretch of the project, with work set to wrap-up in November.
